Accommodations & Faculty Notification
Accessibility Resources utilizes an interactive, collaborative approach to determine reasonable accommodations in partnership with the student. As part of this process, Accessibility Resources will consider information on past use and effectiveness of accommodations and the current impact of the student’s disability in an educational setting. Communication between the student and Accessibility Resources is key in helping to determine what accommodations may be appropriate for the student at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Accessibility Resources will make every effort to implement reasonable and effective accommodations; however, requests for accommodations that are not supported by appropriate documentation, that fundamentally alter the college's programs or requirements, or that result in an undue burden may be denied. Students may request accommodation decisions be provided to them in writing at any time.
Students may also request changes be made to approved accommodations at any time. Students should schedule a time to meet with an Accessibility Resources staff member to request accommodation changes.
Faculty Notification Letters
Students are responsible for proactively notifying their professor of need for accommodation in a course prior to the beginning of a block or early enough for faculty to implement reasonable accommodations. Students must submit their faculty notification letter listing their approved academic accommodations to their professor via AR Online Services each block. Additionally, students should meet with their professors to discuss how accommodations will work best for each course. Students and faculty are encouraged to contact Accessibility Resources if assistance is needed in determining how to best implement accommodations.
