NSO Pre-Arrival Checklist
Before you arrive to campus this Fall, there are several forms and tasks that you must complete over the summer - what we refer to as your Pre-Arrival Checklist. The Pre-Arrival Checklist outlines everything you must do or are recommended to do prior to your arrival on campus in the Fall. The Checklist is divided into two sections: Required Items and Recommended Items. Required Items are exactly that – required for everyone to complete and most items have the same deadline of June 30th. Please explore the Recommended Items, as each task depends on a student’s needs and situation, and the deadlines vary – also there are a few items on the Recommended checklist that are still required to be completed, so be sure to read through it all carefully! You can access your individualized checklist inside your , and as you complete Required tasks, they will be checked off your list (does not apply to Recommended Items).
Once you receive your CC Credentials (around May 12th), please log into your to complete these items on your Pre-Arrival Checklist.
If you are participating in a program that requires Early Arrival (The Bridge Program, International Student Orientation, pre-season Athletics, etc.) please check with program administrators as some checklist items may have earlier due dates. Regardless of your arrival date, you are expected to have all of your pre-arrival checklist items completed prior to moving onto campus.
While summer schedules can prove challenging, we encourage all students to complete these forms on their own, as no one knows you better than you know yourself. Allowing your parent, friend, or family member to complete these forms on your behalf can lead to roommate mismatches and First-Year Program course surprises.
Should you be unable to complete a checklist item by the due date, please contact the appropriate office in advance of the deadline to make necessary arrangements for form submission; notifying us after the deadline has passed may mean we are unable to accommodate your requests.

Priddy Experience
The Priddy Experience takes place during the week of NSO / WSO and provides a unique orientation experience for each incoming student. “Priddy” as it is more commonly known, is often the highlight of a student's introduction to Colorado Springs and helps ease their transition to college. Students are placed into smaller “Priddy Groups” of 10-12 students and participate in half day Service, Local, and Outdoor programs; students work closely with a variety of non-profit organizations to give back to the community, explore the region as a group, and immerse themselves in the local community by exploring downtown and hiking the trails in our nearby parks and open spaces.
Throughout these days together, groups begin building relationships with their fellow classmates and gain insight from their upper-class leaders. Group reflections and discussion surrounding academics and the culture at CC are a large part of the program and provide opportunities for incoming students to begin goal setting and preparing for their upcoming first year of college. We hope that through the Priddy Experience, we can create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all incoming students.
So we have all the information we need to place you into your Priddy group, be sure to complete your in Summit by June 30!
Key Terms
Here are a few important expressions to understand for orientation:
NSO: New Student Orientation
Priddy Groups: Small groups of 10-12 students who participate in Priddy Experience programming together, led by Priddy Leaders.
Priddy Leader: Your guide to all things CC; two or three current CC students will be assigned to your Priddy Group, facilitating your Priddy Experience, and acting as a resource as you settle into CC.
Priddy Rotations: Half day programming timeslots during orientation that include programming in areas of “Service”, “Local”, “Outdoor” and “Optional” activities.
Trippee: A term used for a participant in Priddy Group or Outdoor Education trip.
Leave No Trace (LNT): Seven principles that provide a framework of minimum impact practicesLinks to an external site. for anyone visiting the outdoors. These ethics help keep our outdoor spaces healthy and available for future generations!
Priddy Intern: A team of students working throughout the summer to organize the Priddy Experience.
Outdoor Education (OE): A department on campus that is home to the interns and professional staff that plan and coordinate the Priddy Experience! Outdoor Education is also home to the Ahlberg Gear House (where you can rent gear), the Bike & Ski Co-op, and the Ritt Kellog climbing gym. OE hosts a variety of outdoor-oriented trips, programs, and activities throughout the year!

Housing & Room Assignment Process
In the next two months, the Office of Housing & Residential Experience will make over 500 room assignments for the incoming class! To help us accomplish this complex but exciting task, it is your responsibility to do the following:- Step 1: Application
- Once you get your CC Credentials on May 12, you'll be able to apply for housing via the . This includes providing demographic information, Emergency/Missing Person Contact, Housing Preferences and LLC requests.
- Step 2: Contract
- Your housing contract will be ready to sign starting May 20 inside the .
- You must accept the terms and conditions of the 2025-2026 Housing Contract. This agreement is a legally binding document, and your electronic acceptance of the terms serves as a signature on that document. Failure to accept the agreement will delay your housing placement.
- The contract must be signed before participating in roommate matching and room assignment.
- Step 3: Roommate Matching
- Available in the Student Housing Portal from June 5 - June 25.
- Please take time to answer the questions thoughtfully to assist us in assigning a roommate compatible with your lifestyle routines. We utilize answers to these questions in order to make room assignments.
- If you have a preferred roommate already selected, you will be able to create a roommate group in the .
- Roommate matching is only available to students who have signed the contract.
- Step 4: Room Assignment
- Room assignments will be emailed to your CC email from Housing & Residential Experience in Mid-July!
Accessibility Resources and Housing
Students requesting disability-related housing accommodations from Accessibility Resources should follow the timeline:
- Meet with an Accessibility Resources staff member by June 20. Email accessibililtyresources@coloradocollege.edu to set up an appointment.
- Complete the Housing Accommodation Request Form and submit documentation of disability by June 30 (more information will be provided during the meeting with Accessibility Resources staff).
Students who complete the process by the above timeline will be notified of a decision via CC email in mid-July. Students who request and are approved for a disability-related housing accommodation after these dates may be placed on a waitlist until an appropriate space becomes available.
Living and Learning Communities (LLCs)
Driven each year by student interest, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has several Living and Learning Communities in which incoming students can participate. These communities focus on different topics of learning, interest, or identity, allowing students to live and learn with others with similar passions or experiences. Students in these communities live and learn together, making it easier to meet new people and feel connected.
All LLCs for new students are in the main residential areas, called the “Big 3”. These halls have additional spaces like lounges and kitchens where students can gather and form connections! Each community also has a dedicated Resident Advisor (RA) to support the community. For more information about these communities please visit the Living and Learning Communities section of the Housing & Residential Experience Website.
The 2025-2026 LLCs are:
- The Outdoor Education community is committed to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and leadership of students through outdoor and community service experiences. The Outdoor Education community is in South Hall and is a blended 1st and 2nd year community.
- The Pride Community is a community committed to enhancing knowledge and education around gender and sexual diversity. This is a community dedicated to celebrating queer life on campus. Located in Mathias with a blended community of 1st and 2nd year residents.
- The 24- Hour Quiet Community holds specific community expectations around quiet hours.
- The Substance-Free Communities hold specific community expectations around substance use.
- The All Women Communities are open for all women-identifying students.
Assignment Availability
All housing assignments and roommate information will be sent to your CC email and listed in the Student Housing Portal in Mid-July - so keep an eye on your email!
While the assignment process is underway, please visit the Housing & Residential Experience website to learn more about our residence halls. Typically, new students are assigned to one of our traditional halls, Loomis, Mathias, or South. To learn more about the Big 3 visit On Campus Housing Options.

Immunization Records
An important part of our efforts to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone in the CC community is documenting immunizations and certain health information. Therefore, all incoming students are required to provide a Colorado Certificate of Immunization and complete the Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire prior to move-in. We are specifically looking for two doses of the MMR vaccine, the Meningococcal (MCV) vaccine within the past five years, and a TB test if the screening questionnaire indicates you may be at risk.As our immunization forms are to be completed and signed by your healthcare provider, please make an appointment with your provider soon in order to have this form completed by the July 15 deadline. Be sure to also talk with your physician during this appointment about as you transition to college during this appointment.

Academic Interest Survey
To help us better understand your academic interests and tailor your course placement, please take a moment to answer a brief survey in your .
Near the beginning of August, you will receive an email with your Faculty Advisor, Hub Advisor, and your fall course schedule. You must remain enrolled in the CC100 and CC120 in which you are placed, but you can change your remaining two courses once you arrive on campus to begin the fall semester. More information on the add/drop process will be sent in August along with information on how to view your fall schedule.
Registration for transfer students is done in consultation with Kieran Bennett, Advising Hub transfer advisor. Please contact Kieran directly (kbennett@coloradocollege.edu) to register for your fall courses. It is not necessary to complete the Academic Interest Survey.
Billing Information and Due Dates
Fall semester bills will be available online at 6pm on August 8, 2025. Starting July 1, you will need to sign into our billing site* and accept the financial obligations of the college no later than August 1.
Fall semester balances are due September 5, 2025. Families must adhere to the fall semester billing due date and/or enroll in the Payment Plan option. For more billing and payment plan information, please visit our website.
* Winter Starts can sign into the online billing site on or after July 1, although they will not receive a bill until January 2026.
Federal Direct Loan Application Process
When a student accepts the Federal Direct Stafford Loan on their award OR if they submit a separate to apply for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan for the first time, they will need to complete the following TWO steps to meet federal requirements before Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will originate the loan with the Department of Education.
- Step 1: Entrance Counseling for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan:
- In compliance with federal requirements, students who are borrowing for the first time at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ must complete an online entrance counseling session before funds could be credited to their account. This session helps students understand their rights and responsibilities when borrowing this loan.
- Step 2: Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan:
- The MPN is the legal agreement that the student will repay the loan in the future. The student will be required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and will only be required to complete the MPN once while attending Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
Math Self-Assessment
This summer, incoming students will have the opportunity to take a free . We encourage you to take this assessment because it will help you decide on appropriate classes and support your success. Despite wording on the ALEKS website, at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this assessment is not a placement test, but used instead as a planning resource for you.
This assessment takes about 60-90 minutes. Find an uninterrupted, quiet time period and location to complete the assessment. You may take it twice, with at least a week between tries. Please take it before June 30, or before your group advising session with the Hub, whichever is earlier.
To register, please follow these directions carefully:
- . If the class code does not auto-populate, enter HMH33-4QMNC.
- Please select "No, I have never used ALEKS before" even if you have used ALEKS,
- Then, use your Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ email and CC 6-digit student identification number to register.
- Save your login name and password to access your account in the future.
- At My Classes” click on “ALEKS Math Self-Assessment, AY2024-2025. Please note: This is not a placement test at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
- Click on “GET STARTED” to answer a brief survey, and then complete the 5-minute "Tools Tutorial," for using the assessment software.
- Enter the password "CCCLASSOF2028"
- The assessment uses adaptive technology and will push you a bit.
- Have scratch paper and pencils available to do your work on the side.
- The CC Honor Code applies; no outside materials, Internet, calculators, books, or consulting with classmates. For questions where a calculator is allowed, a pop-up calculator will be provided.
- Upon completion, click through until you reach the colored pie diagram.

Student Health Insurance Enrollment/Waiver
All students are required to have health insurance while attending Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and to provide annual proof of coverage. The 2024-2025 annual student health insurance waiver/enrollment period will open around July 1. All students must either enroll in or waive out of the school-sponsored student health insurance plan (SHIP). You can learn more on the SHIP website.In order to gain faster access to the SHIP plan, if enrolling, and to ensure that your student account bill accurately reflects your financial obligations, if waiving, we encourage students to complete this quick waiver/enrollment process by July 28. Initially, all student accounts will be charged the fall SHIP premium of $1844. If a waiver is submitted and approved, the SHIP premium charge will be removed from the student account. Any student who does not actively enroll in the SHIP or submit a waiver to opt-out of the SHIP by the deadline of August 31, 2024 will be enrolled by default in the fall SHIP and the fall premium charged to their student account will remain. There are no refunds or reversals of charges after August 31, 2024.
The cost of the 2024-2025 SHIP for annual enrollment is $4405, which is billed by semester:
- Fall: $1844 charged to student accounts (provides coverage from 8/1/24-12/31/24)
- Spring/Summer: $2561 charged to student accounts (provides coverage from 1/1/25 -7/31/25)
**Incoming first-year students will not have access to the SHIP waiver/enrollment portal until they are registered for class at CC, sometime between the end of July and the first week of August. The SHIP deadline is not until August 31.
