Professor RNA Biochemist
Chemistry & Biochemistry
I am a nucleic acid biochemist who studies RNA thermodynamics with undergraduate students at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
We use several different biophysical methods to characterize small RNA. We are particularly interested in understanding the role of magnesium ions in stabilizing RNA structures.
I am also interested in improving undergraduate teaching. My research in pedagogy focuses on developing student-centered teaching, particularly problem-based service learning, anti-racist teaching, and science outreach.
